Hours are 9 am-5 pm and may vary on the season, attendance, and weather.
The gift shop associate is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service and accurately balancing of a cash register and credit card machine while selling admission tickets and retail items to Zoo guests in the Gift Shop.
Ideally, the candidate would work 16-32 hrs per week through October then reduce it to 24-36 hrs weekly during the winter months.
Must work Weekends and some Holidays.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and
Responsibilities:
Greet visitors and ring them up for admission to the park Answer questions regarding animals, adoptions, merchandise, and pricing Upsell them for Sloth Encounters, Feed-A Tiger, Feed cups and more Assist in inventory and ordering of merchandise Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions and policies Responsible daily for keeping the gift shop clean and maintaining displays and merchandise neatly Participate in answering the phone and handling courteous customer calls Assist with emails Assist with Tour Scheduling Assist with Social media Perform additional duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to accurately closeout and balance daily a cash register and credit card machine Ability to accurately count money and make change Ability to deal with unpleasant or discourteous guests on occasion and stay positive Ability to proactively engage guests in making a sale Ability to effectively communicate with Management, Team Members, and Guests Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all daily documentation Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed EDUCATION AND WORK
Experience:
A high school diploma preferred 1 year
